| Hi guys..it's me with yet another subnetting problem...thanx to black widow by the way for all your help the last time i posted a problem and to everyone else...i need your help once more...i need to know if i approached this problem correctly...i especially need to know if i numbered my subnet id's correctly...so here goes:
Number of physical segments required = 3000
Number of hosts per physical segment required = 4000
My Assigned network address = 12.0.0.0
I used a custom subnet mask of 255.255.240.0
By using this custom subnet mask i can support 4094 subnet ids and 4094 host ids.
These are the subnet id's i've come up with:
12.0.0.0 (won't be using this one)
12.0.16.0
12.0.32.0
12.0.48.0
12.0.64.0
12.0.80.0
12.0.96.0
12.0.112.0
12.0.128.0
12.0.144.0
12.0.160.0
12.0.176.0
12.0.192.0
12.0.208.0
12.0.224.0
12.0.240.0
12.1.0.0
12.1.16.0
12.1.32.0
12.1.48.0
and so on....until:
12.255.224.0
12.255.240.0 (will not be using this one)
am i correct? are my subnet id's numbered correctly? correct me if i'm wrong.
thanx in advance for your help everyone..

Yeah! you're right. I made the exercise and your IPs and ranges looks ok to me. Altought if you're MCSE, as your info says, you should know these topics, i guess, isn't?

| could be an MCSE in NT4, like me, you don't cover much subnetting when you do the NT4 MCSE.
I'm now going through it while I try to upgrade mine to W2K

What exams have you done already? What 2 exams are you planning to do afyer 216?
| wackatax 2003-09-22, 10:45 am |
| i've done 70-210, 70-215, 70-217 and 70-219.
i'm currently studying for 70-216, and after that i'll tackle Designing a microsoft windows 2000 network infrastructure (70-221) and Designing security for a microsoft windows 2000 network (70-220). so far i've passed all on my first try..and i want to keep up that trend.
