B4yaman3 is administering the network infrastructure of his companies Windows 2000 network. B4yaman3 installed one DNS server in each branch office of his company. B4yaman3 also configured each branch DNS server as a secondary server to the primary DNS server at the head office. Which of the following issues regarding name resolution traffic across WAN links have been addressed?

A. Name resolution traffic across the WAN links has been maximized.

B. Name resolution traffic across the WAN links has been minimized.

C. Name resolution traffic across the WAN links has no change at all.

D. None of the above

B. Name resolution traffic across the WAN links has been minimized.

a client in the branch office sends requests to the local DNS server (secondary DNS), which in theory contains the wholly zone database for that domain from the head office.

Guess this one was a bit easier then.

Answer B.

Because you have DNS servers in every location, the DNS query will not need to go across the WAN link.
