| This question has probably been asked a gazillion times but I cannot find a reliable source.
If you had to vote for one main book to study from for the beast, which one would it be ? MS Press / Sybex / New Riders / Syngress / Osborne / ExamCram / Other
Thanks in advance for your views.

| ms-press!!!!
I always use mspress and ciscopress books for my certs.
i skimmed through the 216-mspress, found most of the chapters are ms-215 chapters with a little detail (DNS,DHCP,WINS,Security,CS,Net
work Monitor,RAS), except on OSI, TCP/IP, NAT, and IP ROUTING.
to all you GURUS, if there are better books, i would really like to know too.

| I spent 95% of my time in the Server Resource Kit. More specifically the TCP/IP Core Networking Guide and the Internetworking Guide, and I also used the Transcenders. | |

| I'm currently studying and I am using:
--MCSE Training Kit
--MOC
--Win2K Server Resource Kit
--Online Help
--Technet
I'm told by many that these are good resources.
I also use Self Test Software for the practice tests.

| Just one book? Nope, using 2, New Riders and MS Press, along with Transcenders, hands on (mini network at home) and some prayers *L* | |

| Check it:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...product-details
It is not 70-216 specificaly related, but it will help you a lot. And the most important thing...it is well explained. I love how its author, Tom Shinder (by the way, MD) explains the hard stuff.

| I didn't find the MS Press book very good, It lacked detail on alot of subjects. But I used anyway and picked sybex exam notes for 216 as well and somehow managed to pass | |

| Winterwolf has the right idea! Use more than 1 source, there's many good ones around, and get some hands-on, even if it is a home lab. Nothing is more valuable than hands-on for this exam. Plus it doesn't hurt to have a mentor to help you along the way | |

| You folks are right on!
Whatever book you choose should just provide a framework for your research and practice.
The vendor whose certification your are testing for, is also a great resource. Use the Training and Certification site as an outline for your studies and what experience you should try to gain. Use their support pages to generate specific documentation and even proceedures to practice in your lab.
Best of luck to those of you who are taking 216. How is it going? Speak up! |
