| All...
I took 216 today and fialed. Oh well, at least I know I'm human! This was by far much harder than 210, 215 or 218. I passed those on the first try. To all of you who might be braving this exam next, make sure you know RRAS, WINS, DHCP, and Certificates cold! I should have studied harder. Can be so hard when you don't work in IT! Time to buckle down, and go back in for another helping of pain!!!
|
| I do know how to spell fail by the way!! Guess I'm to tired! | |

| "Rome isn't built in a day ". Get back at those topics you find 'flaky', practice & read more , it's a passable Exam .
If possible, get at least 2 computers & a hub, and do the hands-on on the 'networking must-know features'. Yes, it might take some investment and time, but you'll find the reward at the end- more confidence at your work and in the exam.
MS Technet is a great supplement for success.
You 'll get network diagrams that provides visuals which make more sense, that just all plain text reading.

| I missed this one my first try as well. In a way it's better that you get to know this stuff better, even though it's not fun to fail. Take the opportunity to get in depth. Best of luck! | |

This exam is hard, no doubt... i know 7 different people who fail this exam on the last month....

| Microsoft Sure Make a lot of Money out of this one
For me, I took the '216' after the '217' & the '219'. Even have to do some reading on the '222-migration to Win2000 from NT Server 4 Exam'.
Forked out money to get a Epson Printer to print out infomations from MS Technet. Used up 12 ink cartridges, costing about US120, might not have been a good option instead of getting a Laser printer, which costs US200 or so
And I guess it help in some ways, especially they 'cemented' the concept of DNS, which is one of 'hot' questions 'grilled',in the 216.
Sort of like , solving the rest of the chips to the 'Grand Puzzle', and leaving the last chip for the '216'. Indeed , it has help to get the good picture of the most of the 'components' that make up the MS system.
This is not an easy 'Walk-over' & done thing

I had a 2-machine network for testing some of the concepts, but most of the prep I did was theoretical. I read one study guide cover-to-cover, and drilled like hell with Transcenders, using the Win2K Resource Kit to fill in any gaps.
Using this technique, I passed on the first try.

Nope--I was starting to panic at one point, but I pulled myself together and went on to successfully complete the exam.
It was a long, tough one, for sure!

You'll make it the next time. Keeping your cool is indeed very important.
There're many a times half way thru' the exam, I felt I might as well walk out but thought I should think +ve and bear with it. My last exam yesterday could have been a disaster.
It's all in the mind (when you have done all you can with preps & reading & practice).
Good luck! | |

Thanks for the encouragement, but there's no need for a next time, because the first try was successful.

| My sincere apologies DivxGuy - encouragement directed at jayb1.
I'm still recovering from my 217 ordeal yesterday.

| I was told 216 is one of the hardest tests.
I have just went through study guide book and must admi, it is more dificult than 210,215 and 218.
But keep going.
Better luck next time. | |

| Kuek...
Thanks for the thoughts! It was really my own fault! I simply didn't study hard enough for this one. I had a trip to Toronto for business that was taking up to much of my time. I should have rescheduled the test, but at least I got a good look at it, and know my weaknesses. |
