| If you have read my previous thread "what a day!", Prometric has frozen registration for 216 till further notice. This seems to have been caused by 'blackout' problems during test sessions.
This will probably cover the Asia Pacific region. I wonder if other regions are affected. Anyone facing the same problems?
I tried to re-register again after being told my last exam answers were lost completely.

| You have to resit for one again? Are they making you pay $$ again?
I also have 1 experience about the same: supposed to take 221 on 28th Feb and as I was about to go for the test, the test centre told me that Prometric servers couldn't download those questions. In the end, I got to postpone it a week later. Wasted my leave, but not as unlucky as you nonetheless...
As for your reply for my "Calculator" post, I have sat for the exam and was surprised that the scientific calc was not there. Took me a bit of time to recap how to calc the subnets in the test. Have got a few questions on the subnettings..

Don't think I will have to pay again.
Thanks for the tip. I'll be going for the 221 as well. Looks like I'll have to brush on calculating subnets manually. How many more to go?

| One more to goOOOO... aiming at 224 next. Hope to be MCSEd by early april. I advised you to take 221 after your 216 cos they are more or less related. Yup, better learnt subnetting by heart or else you'll get heart faint in test centre. Sigh.. M$...
You got how many more left?

Good luck on 224, you definitely make it (you sound like you know what you are doing). I'm now hammering 217 and hoping to resit 216 next week. Targetting completion by June & then WIN03 upgrade to worry about.
Good luck again on the 224! Smooth sailing.

| Shamefully, it took me a long time to reach this stage... That's why now must get it fast or else the value of MC$E will devaluate over time with 2003 coming up next.
Smooth sailing for you too neighbour kuek! Cheers!
PS: After 216, 217 and 218 will be a breeze..

| Tomcat21 I read in your post that the Calculator was not available for the Exam. You are allowed to use the Calculator for these exams if it not avaliable then you should complain to the test organizer. I have taken all Network exams and was able to use the Calculator in all of them | |

| I took 216 back in Febuary and a calaculator was avaible, but it was not the normal windows calaculator. It was a very basic custom calaculator with no bin to dec or hex functions. This lead to a fair bit of scribling on the writing pads to work out the subnets required. | |

| This is getting to be a really bad habit. Prometric (Australia) just cancelled their 216 exam for me at the 11th hour. I booked for this afternoon.
I was told that they will still put it on hold for the foreseable future.
They've really scxxxed up bad. They could at least have the courtesy of informing the candidates earlier and not at the last minute.
Anyway, can't wait, will be sitting the 217 on Mon come rain or shine.
Wish you guys better luck on your exam outings!

| Guys,
Looks like I don't have to re-sit 216.
I've just received an email from mswwprog@microsoft.com congratulating me on getting the MCSA. It seems that they did get my last results after all. Checked the secure site to look at my transcript to make sure this is for real. And its there.
I can now finally relax. (Pinch me if I'm dreaming - lol)
Thanks for the support & words of enouragement.
However, I'd still like to say Prometric Australia, get your act together for the benefit of future candidates. |
