| Hi Guys,
Just a quickie, Have any of you out there used the passport books (Mike Meyers) and if so, what did you think of the quality of the questions both in the book and on the cd with regards to the real exams?
I have bought the books for both 216 and 217, found them really easy to read and a good help, but the questions seem to be pretty easy.
Any opinions??

| Ok my opinion on Mike Myers. Used his books for Net+, I-Net+, 70-210, 70-215, and Server+. Found the books very easy reading and passed all exams with his books. I used his study guide on his disk but not enough. I then went to half price books and bought the sybex series and used there disk to go over questions. I hope this answers your question. | |

| Mike Meyers is not the author on most of these books. In any case I am studying the passport book for 216 right now. I find it quite instructive and well written. I am also using the Dummies book, the Sybex book, and cbtnuggets. | |

| Hi.
I do not recommend passport series as the only one resource for study. I mean, those books are excellent for a quick review, because they have a quick/easy writing style. But at same time, they are too thin and do not touch topics much in depth.
For 216, i recommend these books:
McGraw-Hill Osborne Media; Study Guide edition (September 21, 2000)
ISBN: 0072123834
Troubleshooting Windows 2000 Tcp/Ip
Tom Shinder (The Paper Edition)
...and the Mark Minasi book for W2k: Mastering Windows2000 4th ed. This one is not a study guide, but you will learn...and i mean, LEARN, Windows2000 in and out. This man is a MASTER explaning topics in an easy/complete way. This book is the best i ever had regarding Windows2000 and maybe IT information. So easy to read that you won't let it down.
Finally....the most important tip: HANDS ON PRACTICE. This is the reason why i still do not take the test. I've used Windows2000 a lot, but still don't know very well, RRAS and Routing in and out.

| I agree, i am using the osbourne books and online training for the majority of my study, but i bought the passport books as they were cheap. I find them very easy to read, but they just seem to skim over everything rather than explain properly.
I also have a small home lab, which proved indispensible for 210 and 215, so hopefully it will be the same for 216 and 217, which i am gonna try and take as soon as possible.
Cheers for the feed back guys.

Nothing can't beat the "hands on practice". Is the way to go...
