We have two networks seperated by a router, I created two scopes with range 172.168.0.1-172.16.0.254 for subnet A and the other 172.16.1.1-172.16.1.254, my question is how will I tell my DHCP server to assign the respective IP range for each subnet, I am confused that subnet be might leased from scope A, what step should i take? please help!

you could creat a reservation or better yet exclude the common IP address.

If your router is BOOTP enabled it will forward requests from each subnet to the DHCP server. The DHCP server should automatically be able to tell from the DHCPdiscover packet which subnet it came from and assign the correct IP accordingly.
As long as your router is set up correctly, you don't have to specifiy anything in DHCP.

Just activate both scopes and you'll be fine.

Make sure you configure your Relay Agent to point to the DHCP server. Otherwise, no computers on that subnet will receive anything.

In RRAS, right-click on your Relay Agent and select Properties.
In the General tab, you will see a spot for Server Address- place the IP address of the DHCP server here.
Then click Add.

That's all you have to do.
