I thought the opposite; the time shown is the restricted time, am I wrong?
As the “Restrict Access to the Following Days and Times” check box is selected.

Print Screen
I know it's not the best way but it works

If you like there is a free screen camera I send it to you, I have download it but I still didn't use it, I think with that one you can even make a tutorial video, unfortunately without the ability to record audio.

the purpose simply, I have gone through some Q's from EasyCert and facing a Q with my attachment picture, I suspect there answer was not correct, because they didn't agree with:

"Dial-in can only be done from 4:01pm each day till 6:59am the next day."

So I liked to discuss that with the Networking goro like you here

Oops... my mistake. Jeff is correct. Dial-in can only be done from 7am to 4pm everyday.

Why?

it says: Restrict Access from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm; that is simply turns Allow access from 4:00 pm to 7:00 am?

what's going on
anthonie

2003-06-02, 4:43 am

Read carefully, it says "Restrict access to..." not "Restrict access on..."

It seems that I miss that.

I couldn't get it

what is the deference?

Any period of time you choose here, you have two choices, to Restrict or to Allow, when check the check box, you Restrict access during that time, to Allow Uncheck the check box.

think of it and tell me please.

If you are in the profile for the actual policy and hit the 'Edit' button for the time ramges, it is a little clearer. There you get the 24x7 graph and can highlight which times access is permitted. 24x7 is allowed as a default.

You are right that the "days and Times" that appears beneath the check box and paragraph that says:
"Ristrect access to the following days and times".

but I am still don't understand why MS make this confusion

when you say "Ristrect the following";

that means the following item will not permitted?

In Windows Server 2003, it is much clearer, it says: "Allow access only on these days and times." They probably heard your comment from many people.

Really? Good then! Not so much confusion.

It's sometimes very confusing with Windows. In NT4, most of the check boxes are in negative form. Eg. Do not allow.... Whereas in 2K, most of the check boxes are in positive form. Eg. Allow...

Have got now, seems to be I have to study english in Oxford or like university in order to talk with MS

Anyway, lastnight when I was doing my prayers, have got what MS means by:
"Ristrect access to the following days and times".

it means: stop access any other time than the following times.

anyway thanks very much for your replying and really I have got a lot of new things from you.
