DHCP authorization!
| I know that DHCP service on windows 2000 must be authorized on Active Directory. Whats happen if you have a network without AD and you want to use win2k DHCP? | |

| I'm not sure exactly what you are asking for exactly. But when you create a DHCP server without Active Directory being deployed, then you just have to create the scope and activate it. | |

ok... so the DHCP service first try to locate AD service on the network... if found AD, check if is autorizhed, if is autorized, can start, if not, is disabled....
if not AD is found the service can start? really? any link showing that?

| Like I said before, if you don't have Active Directory deployed then all you have to do is create a scope and activate it and its ready to start leasing. You don't have to authorize it UNLESS you have AD. Authorizing a server is just an extra security measure for those companies with AD. I would check out the Server help files for more information.
BTW Feliz cumpleanos a ti.
