Hey Guys,

1) What's up with these gtld servers which are popping up on my firewall alerts? Do I need them? Can I block them? It seems there are too many of these gtld servers to block. Any solutions?

Running Win2000 server, installed DNS, DHCP and RRAS (NAT).

2) When I try to ping my server by its NETBIOS/computer name, the reply is there but my server reply back using or displaying it's ISP-assigned/external IP address. Maybe due to NAT? How can I let it display my internal server IP address rather than external IP?

Maybe their zombiefied!!! (the servers)

Your NAT server is registering the outbound connection in WINS as one or more of the service roles (server, workstation, browser, etc.) Look at your WINS records. This sounds like a symptom of dual-homed server. You can find a lot of material on this on the MS knowledge base. Let us know.

guess i'll look up multi homed on Microsoft.

by the way, i dont have wins installed on my network.

Have you disabled NETBIOS over TCP/IP?
