Author 70-216 with 65 questions

Today I didn't pass 70-216. There were 65 questions (it was a 1-st shock) and a whole series of questions I didn't meet before. Though I used Microsoft Trainig Kit and Transcender 70-216 simulators as well as other ones (Cert21.com; mscseguide.com; cramsession.com), I have failed. And now I do not know what should I use to prepare to the new attempt.
A lot of questions (10-15) concerned Firewall/VPN structure and I realized that here is my blackhole.
Is there anybody who may help me to find a good guide as well as another material or links to prepare for this exams again?
Thank you.

The best way to pass is to copy and cheat.
Here are some suggestions:

Write some answers on your boots, hankerchief, and arms.

Let someone who has passed it take the exam in your name.

Leave the MCSE training book in the toilets and excuse yourself everytime a question stumps you.

Fail the exams a few times but each time write the questions and possible solutions down so that you can look up the answers on technet or ask your MCT.

Just remember a pass is a pass it doesn't really matter how you pass.

The following two links will contain everything you need to pass the exam, and best of all, they are absolutely free resources! Make sure to add them to your favorites.

Windows 2000 Server Internetworking Guide

Windows 2000 Server TCP/IP Core Networking Guide

Be sure to especially check out Chapter 9 - Virtual Private Networking, for a very indepth guide to VPNs, Microsoft style, that also contains a section entitled VPNs and Firewalls. Hope it helps!

Don't mind jackiechan, he braindumped his way to certifications and now can't find a job other than at MacDonalds. Too bad, at last report, he was leaving that job due to a flatulence and weight gain problem! Left your MacDonald's job yet, jackiechan? Smart minds want to know!

Too bad jackiechan didn't take advantage of these great free resources too when he was preparing for his MCSE. May be now his cert would be worth more than the paper it is written on!

Hi sribny,

don't take it too hard. Lots of ppl flung this 216 at first attempt. I myself had taken months to prepare for it, juggling b/w work and the study, almost 1/2 a year sad to say.

My experience told me that I had to go thru the textbook (Osbrone pub. in my case) 2 to 3 times to make sure I know what they are talking about. Above that, I also did experimentation as well as cramsession/transcender practices like you did. I got a shock of my life when I took the exam; the Q were almost totally diff from cramsession/transcender. But luckily, my understanding and experience pulled me thru.

Hope it helps.

If you don't succeed the first time.. try and try again.. don't give up easily.. don't let people like Jackie Chan bring you down.. they are those who cheat and do whatever it takes to pass.. we don't need negative people like him around here.. looks like Zaraspook said enough about him..

this time maybe you can prepare yourself better before sitting for the exams.. try getting some hands on practice.. just my two cents

Thanks for your support. As I understand there are 2 ways to pass an exam.
1. Study, study and study. I know it's a right way. But if I need a result of this process, I should be ready to the questions. At this point I need whether a big experience or a samples of the questions. To have a big experience I should have a job that have deal with this problem. Also I work with LAN and with Windows network, I have no such one.

2. To be ready to the questions, that may be appeared on the exam test. In this case, I need any test or books those cover this ones.

Anyway your participation made my mind easy.

Alex, if you have any additional information about this process, please give me know.

Thank you.
P.S. As for paper certificate, I beleive, that the paper have a value in the right hands. But when we meet with hireman it will be known after that. Another words, we need paper to be better. If we know the difference between swagger and dignity.

I suggest some other books, like the Sybex ones. With the Sybex guides, the Transcender exams, and the Win2K Resource kit, I was able to pass 70-216 with 13 days of study.

If you don't have the Resource Kit, it comes with the MSDN Library.
