... you can use the Scavenge database command....

what means... what is the purpose of the scavenge database option?... sorry for this questions but i want to understand every detailed option...

Mate, I dont know if i am the only one on this line of thought, but if i open the forum and find your questions for every single detail of WINS, i think you had better check and make sure some of the pages in your arent stuck together. Its all there if you read carefully.

Basically, scavenge database means to delete all records that are eligable for deletion.

explain me if you can. if i have 3 records not longer needed, i donīt delete the records, i make a SCAVENGE???

I believe you have to delete them and choose to tombstone them. They still will not scavenge until the tombstone period has expired.

so what is the professional entire procedure after i see that 3 records are not longer needed????

Select the entries to delete, choose the tombstone option so that that the deletion gets replicated to other WINS servers on the network. If no other WINS servers on the network, then not much need for tombstone, so you could shorten it. I forget what the default tombstone is but it's really long, like 20 days or something. Once a record is tombstoned it can't be deleted till that period has expired.

ah ok. perfect....
sounds logic... if only one wins server exists, no tombstone needed....
