Another one bites the dust...

| All I can say is, I am glad I don't have to re-sit this one.
Well, I am sure none of you missed me, but I haven't been around these forums for a little bit, been studying my XXX off for 216. Passed it first time with about 40 secs left on the timer. I was not at all confident during the whole test and during the last 2-3 questions all that was running through my mind was what day I was going to retake it.
Well, I guess the studying paid off.
To those who haven't done this one, here are some thoughts of mine;
1 - There is a reason why people on this forum call it the beast. It is a tough exam. Aside from long (almost all were a page long type questions) questions and several with 'Choose all that Apply' (I hate these especially) the length 200 minutes, is a long time to stay focused.
2 - Know your stuff. A lot of multiple choices are closely related...seems to me more so then the other 3 core. The 'Choose all that Apply' type seemed to come up regularly and of course there are no partial marks.
3 - Plenty of questions on RRAS (Remote Access), DHCP, DNS. Heaps on Routing and Protocols. A few on Subnetting and Certificates.
I used for studying:
New Riders Exam Guide (didn't think much of this book at all - See my previous thread in this forum - http://www.examnotes.net/forums/sho...&threadid=58392 -
Microsoft Press e-book
MCSE Freak's Subnetting Guide (Cheers Freak)
Transcenders Latest update
Examcram Cram Session This I read on the night before, and only that. This has worked for me all exams.
Thanks everyone who contributed to my other threads with frustrations on some topics. What now?? On to 70-220 Security Design.
Later.

| Congrats on your pass - hold on tight 'cause if you thought 216 took a lot of time, wait until you sit one of the design exams!
I see you did 217 - are you planning to take 219? If you are, you might want to think about taking the 219 while you still have a bit of the 217 fresh. It's the same material only presented in case study format - unlike any of the tests you've done with MS so far. | |
