| Yo! Long time no read 'me? I dunno...'.
So you want to install RRAS from 2k Server on Win XP Pro? Can't say that I have. Love to hear about it though.
How's it going? | |

| It's going okay, how about you? I'm just plugin' away... I know there was a thread about this somewhere but I thought I would reintroduce the subject. I know I also read somewhere about somebody being bummed out about no rras in xp, now I'm just starting to get an idea what they were talking about.
hoping to write 215 in the next couple of weeks, should be able to take over the world by next June. (good thing the evil genius only comes out late at night)
I'm kindof scared of experimenting on my xp box, as it's my main squeeze, so to speak, plus I stand to loose a lot of tunes. That's a big chance when you figure they are all ripped at turtlenet speed.
The fear involved in learning a new game is beginning to recede, and it's actually getting to be fun at times.
It would be nice to be able to configure my xp box for a NAT server though.
I think that "regards" thing that cm2jg does is pretty cool, so with all due respect, I'm going to rip him off
regards,
rj
hmmmnn...now that's got a nice ring to it.

| Got the 120 day version of 2k server? It would be cool to back you tunes up on CD then go for it on the main squeeze!!! It'll really help with 216. | |

| I do have the 120 day 2kserver, but I also have to convert xp box to ntfs, so I'm thinking backup the tunes to another hdd on fat32, then convert to ntfs, then go for it (I'm not sure if mp3's burned from ntfs would work in car, or if I could) Would the Nat server on the xp box still be okay with the dhcp, dns, Wins, etc on the domain controller? I guess there would need to be a pointer from Nat server to dc, right?
I guess these tasks would be spread out in the real world, might as well make it the same in my world.
just guessing, gateway on dc points to nat, gateway on nat points to dc, lan clients gateway to dc, nat static ip# on modem, static lan card, dc static. hmmn, still something missing, I better study up on NAT some more.
if I was to introduce a switch rather than a hub into the equation, would it go in the same place as the hub?
Then again, maybe I should just get what I'm doing done first

| My desktop is 2k server and I don't have any issues with producing audio CD's from either file system. | |

| took about 15 minutes to convert 15 gigs of fat32 to ntfs, rras was a no-go, but at least the xp-box is playing nice with the rest now. All in all, it was a nice day in the hills. | |

you can burn your mp3 files to cd no mather you have your files on fat, fat32 or ntfs. the cd burn software burn on ISO or Joliet standard CDFS format.
