I have no experience with this test. I am studying for 218. But, I do know that it is called the "Beast".

First or all, I would like to congratulate you on your successful completion of the 215 exam and welcome you aboard to the 216 forum. I hope you will find this forum to be just as friendly and helpful as any of the other W2k forums included on this excellent site. So please let us encourage you not to hesitate to ask anytime you feel the need for assistance, as we are all very eager and willing to help!

I know this is a bit unsolicited so I hope you won’t take it the wrong way, but I, and many others on this site, will highly recommend that you take the 217 & 219 exams first before attempting the 216 one. Why? Because the 216 exam is widely regarded as the hardest of the four core exams by almost everyone who has already taken it. By accomplishing the 217 & 219 exams first, you will increase your knowledge and understanding to a level that will make your transition to the 216 core exam much easier. I also believe it will substantially lessen the length of time you will spend overall achieving those three certifications, and significantly increase the odds that you will be successful and not become discouraged. Indeed, many of the people who have already successfully completed the MCSE, did so by not taking the 216 exam until last.

Is it the path that I have taken? Of course not! But hindsight is 20/20 isn’t it? Whichever path you decide to take, I wish you the very best of luck!

Thank you for the suggestion, Zaraspok. But 219 exams in not in my MCSE Track. I will take SQL server and Exchange server for the elective exam. So I should take the elective exam first, then finish 70-216 until the last?

Thank you again.

Don't you have to take at least one design exam? Most people take the 219 since it is regarded as the easiest. At any rate, I would recommend that you at least take the 217 before 216.

I agree with Zaraspook's recomended path. However, I think I'm going for 216 before 219 because I'm a bit more afraid of the format for 219. I want to get the basic core out of the way then shift my frame of mind for case studies.

I agree with Zara. This is the order I took my exams: 215, 210, 217, 216, and 219. My other 2 electives carried over from my NT4 Cert. And yes, you HAVE to have at least 1 design exam for the MCSE.

Pavlov: Don't be afraid of the question types on 219. The hardest questions were the drag and drops. Some of the other questions were so easy they were stupid.

people say that 70215 is more easy than 70210... and 70217 must be taked first than the 70216... no doubt: 216 is the beast, the monster.... KILL me first time and only receive FAILED status, no points, ANYTHING... but all is possible, i retake exam this month!!!

what you mean with easy and stupid questions on 219? 219 is what exam?

It's a hard exam, but I passed it the first time after less than 2 weeks study, and I've never worked in the networking field, and I'm not the greatest student, either.

It's doable, and on the first try, even with a modest amount of practical experience.

I passed 9 other MCP exams, each on the first try as well, which would suggest that it was technique, not luck.

And no, if you are wondering, I didn't use braindumps or cheating aids like Troytech, either.

My experience was after passing 210,215, and when was going to take the 216 exam-I actually tried out Wbafrank's quizs of the day, and I realised I can't answer a fair number of questions, that really question my confidence, so I 've actually followed some of the more experienced exam taker, yes, take the 217 exam first before attempting the 216- For it requires something more than knowledge - practical experience. My advice, is build a network at home, try them out, and then when you feel you are confident at it, then go for it.

the 70216 was the first exam i fail IN MY LIFE. i pass several universities like Audio technician, Electronics and Comunications and Computer Specialist (4 + 4 + 6 years full study)

regarding certifications, i pass almost 7 exams from HP, 6 from CA, 2 from MS, 2 from Comptia, 16 from LTEL.

I never fail any of this exam. AND THE LUCK exists. I pass A+ yesrterday and was more difficult than standard. 18 questions regarding NT stuff, not 2k or win9x.

luck exist on exams. of course!
