And today's poser is ....

Q2. There has been a recent spate of people logging in at the Department of Corrective Ontology with other people's credentials. This isn't helped by the fact that many of the people that work in the Department's Baton Rouge office tend to stick their passwords on sticky post-it notes on their monitors, desk lamps and, in one extreme case, a plush toy.

To combat these practices it has been decided that instead of username/password login credentials being used to authenticate users at the Department of Corrective Ontology, programmable smart cards that store digital certificates will be used. This way log in can be achieved only via having a smart card rather than using the password that might be inappropriately displayed. Smart card readers are installed on all of the Department's Baton Rouge offices. Which of the following protocols must be enabled to support smart card logon?

A. PPTP

B. EAP

C. MS-CHAPv2

D. L2TP

E. BAP

F. MS-CHAP

Good Luck .... see you tomorrow for the answer!!

Correct Answer: B

If a certificate is installed either in the certificate store on your computer or on a smart card, and the Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) is enabled, you can use certificate-based authentication in a single network logon process, which provides tamper-resistant storage of authentication information.
