Good luck - although it is admittedly a tough exam, it is by no means impossible to pass on the first try.

I think my celebration for passing 70-216 was restricted to splurging on a translucent candy red ATX case to replace the drab old beige one housing my T-Bird.

At $US 25, only a fifth of the price of a 70-216 failure, I thought I deserved the treat.

Well guys... I woke up... went to burger king... took 3 energy pills "euphreda"
and a mountain dew amp. Never would i know what is about to happen. I drove 40 minutes to the testing center. Got out of my car.. I felt dizzy... Went in and toook the exam.
In the middle of the exam, i started feeling numb... my hands went numb, my cheeks, and the back of my head. I completed the test... although I failed it (by what i dont know, i felt i did good enough to pass so probably a few questions), i walked out of the testing center. Driving home I still felt dizzy. Hands were numb.. couldnt move my eyes couldnt even feel myself spit out the window. I drove until I got home. Pulled out at the nearest mobil where I finally decided I couldnt take it anymore and had them call an ambulence. And I spent the rest my day in the hospital and in bed for a caffeine/ suger over does. At times I felt my heart was just gonna explode from beating so fast.
Im up now, still feeling woozy but alot better. Did I really lose to the beast? Thats debatable, I wasnt really in the right frame of mind. Anyway, it was quite scary feeling my heart reach extreme highs... Guys I failed the test... Ill just try again on Monday.

Still a little freaked out...

My condolences. I, too, was starting to get very antzy towards the end of that exam, but somehow, I managed to restrain the urge to panic. It was a miracle that I passed it, but even guys like me who are down on their luck experience get a break once in a while.

Which reminds me, I hope the testing center didn't keep the video of me working through 70-029, because I was cussing a little.

You'll do better on Monday - just keep in mind that it's only a test.

Sorry to here of your misfortune. However, now you know what to expect. You've seen the questions. This time make sure you get a good night's rest and you'll do okay!

Also WIZ, a peice of advice from the training table. If you wake daily on tea and toast, don't switch to esspresso and a danish on test day. You need to observe your routine on test day.

Also if you don`t know the answer
caffiene will not supply it.
Go in clear headed.
Get to bed early the night before.
If you can`t reschedule it until you can.
This was one of the dumbest things I`ve ever heard.
Taking pills to get an edge on the test...
sheesh!!

Perhaps it seemed foolish, but there's no need for a comment like that. Ive heard it enough from enough people. I havent touched caffeine since Friday. Oh well, one way to break the addiction.

My comment was kind.

I hope you did learn a lesson.
The reason it sounded so dumb to me is that you seem to be an otherwise intelligent and reasonable person.
Too smart for that kind of behaviour.

As someone who passed 10 MCP exams (including 70-216), all on the first try, I thought you might appreciate the following tips.

I always took my exams in the afternoon, which gave me some breathing room if I had any insomnia problems the night before, and also allowed for some last-minute cram time (in fact, I took my 70-228 Exam Cram with me to the testing center. ).

I definitely made a point of not cramming into the wee hours of the morning, or anything else that would contribute to drowsiness or attentiveness problems the next day.

If it sounds as if im dragging this on, I am sorry. However, I had plenty of hours sleep before the exam, i just figured why be alert, when I can be more alert. Well, despite that, yes it was foolish. I havent drank any caffeine since then.

I understand, and honestly I should be a bit more understanding as someone who has come back from the other side of addiction myself
"not that you are an addict mind you" I can understand the rationlization that happens.
I guess that is why I am so hard nosed against chemical solutions, I know where they can lead, to chemical dependance.
Anyway I`m here enjoying life clean and sober 13+ years and actually have enough brain left to learn this stuff, by grace.
After everything it sounds like you learned a more important thing than just passing 216 which you will I`m sure.

When it comes to brain cells, I take the Homer Simpson philosophy: Fill 'em and kill 'em! Malt, hops, barley... hummm... that's the grain group. I think the federal government say we should have 5-6 servings a day.

My point is that the night before, I won't change my routine. If I have a couple of brews normally, that's what I do exam eve. I prefer taking my exams in the afternoon, kinda works like I have already observed my daily routine and the test is a reward. Eat normally, rest a little more and don't change the routine!
