| Anyone know if the Sybex MCSE home lab is worth buying?? I don't have too much opportunity for hands on and thought it might help, especially with RRAS.
Any advice anyone?? | |

| I have the "MCSE: Windows 2000 Core Requirements Virtual Lab" by Sybex. It has labs for 70-210, 70-215, 70-216, 70-217. It is not a bad simulation and it looks like the real thing. However, the exerises are the same ones as in the Sybex Study Guides and you really need the books to follow what is going on. The book that comes with the CD only has the exerises with no elaboration. In addition, you can only do what is in the lab and cannot go off to look at other options. In my opinion, it may be worth the money if you do not have access to the real thing - but this is basic material and the Microsoft test for 70-216 goes beyond what this covers. | |

| Hmm.. sounds a bit limited. I was hoping that it would allow me to play around within a virtual network but that doesn't seem to be the case after all. Thankyou for your input, much appreciated.

| If you are looking at that sort of deal, then you may be able to purchase time from an online lab (which is basically a physical network just for you to play on). I know you can get these for Cisco studies, maybe there are some sites for M$ too. |
