And today's poser is ....

Q68. You are the administrator for a Windows 2000 network. The network contains four Windows 2000 Server computers. One of the servers is used as an Enterprise CA. Part of the existing backup procedures includes a backup of the directory C:\WINNT\System32\CertLog on the CA server. Why should you continue this procedure?

A. So the certificate policies and public keys will be secure.

B. So the certificate policies and private keys will be secure.

C. So the certificate database and enrollment settings will be secure.

D. So the certificate database and certificate log files will be secure.

D makes sense to me because I would expect a subdirectory named logs to contain log files.

possibly D as the it has the directory has Certlog as part of the directory.. we use names that have meanings as part of the directory as easy reference

And the answer is ....

Correct Answers: D

The certificate database records all transactions handled by the CA. Because the certificate database is a transaction database, it includes certificate log files. By default, the database and log files are installed in C:\WINNT\System32\Certlog. You should continue a backup procedure of this directory so the certificate database and certificate log files will be secure.
