| Sorry I have to ask, are you promoting for this site and company? | |
| freak 2002-02-25, 11:06 am |
| This stuff is copyrighted. You do not have the right to sell it -- let alone come to this forum and advertise it. Please refrain. Thanks | |

| Point taken and true Freak. Totally slipped my mind on that also.
But this day and age, if they don't implement a code on those CD's we'll never stop the piracies we are are facing.

| Hi,
Why is it piracy selling my videos that I have used and want to sell on? There is nothing to say that I can't sell them. What is the problem with you guys?

| I've wondered about this too. Are CBT's any different then selling used books? Books are also copyrighted. Just asking. | |
| cross36 2002-02-25, 12:02 pm |
| Piracy only means the art of copying a copyrighted material. If you in fact want to get rid of yours for sale, there is no problem with that.
Post it up on ebay and supply the link.
Simple as that | |

| Get real - You can't sell CBT nuggets, that's the same thing as selling Transcenders. Go sell your $hit somewhere else. I get tired of reading this BS all the time | |

| okay I usually don't participate in flaming sessions but in this case I think I have to say something. The guy is selling the cbt nugget videos that he used, what is *wrong* with that? That is basically the equivalent of passing an IT exam and then selling your book on ebay. If that scenario deserved the negative feedback that I just read in this thread, then virtually the entire IT community would hate each other. Potato Head, I don't exactly understand what you mean by comparing selling transcenders with cbt nuggets? or what is wrong with selling either one of them? If this guy actually was selling copies of the cbt nuggets(or transcender copies) now that would be both piracy and self serving, and worthy of a thread(or two or three )of flames. But that's obviously not the case. For those of you who just criticized him just think about this: Have you ever sold any of the cds you own to a local record store, the ones you don't use anymore? Sold any of your books? sold *anything* on ebay? If so then you are being completely hypocritical.
and for those of you who don't feel that it's appropriate to post about selling something on this website, well this site is about the discussion of certifications, including study materials. From what I heard the CBT nuggets are good videos, and I'm sure that there would be definitely be a few people who would be interested in buying them at a lower price. Is that because they would want to exploit the CBT nuggets site and jip them out of some extra cash? No, it's because study materials(especially good ones)are pretty damn expensive, and saving money in the process is usually a good thing.
just my two cents | |

| I think the whole point here is, you shouldn't come on this forum to peddle anything. If you want to sell something, go to eBay or one of the other sites that is setup for that sort of thing. If the person selling this stuff wanted to, I suppose they could just make a statement to check out eBay for their material for sell. Possibly something to the effect of: "Hey all! Have CBT nuggets on eBay at <link>." JMO | |

| Hey Folks,
Some thoughts.....
A determination of copyright violation depends upon the EULA as well as your residential country's ratification of the Berne Convention. Which if these are "originals" is as follows: CBT Nugget License states the following: "The CBT nuggets Videos are Licensed for 1 concurrent user only. If these videos will be shown in a classroom or other multi-user environment, you will need to purchase the appropriate number of licenses. (There wasn't a more detailed enclosure in the box)
However, I'm gonna side with Freak on this because he's a moderator for this forum. Additionally they along with the webmaster, have a responsibility for shaping the future and maintaining the integrity as well as focus of this site. With regard to true infringement, allowing or even passively condoning the violation of copyright laws could not just place the site in a legal jeopardy but tarnish the reputation they are building as an educational forum.
There are newsgroups as well as sites and IRC Channels specifically catering to transations of this nature....where they are even encouraged. If there is a specific need for a "classified" forum, maybe if that is in the scope of the site, the moderators can kindly pass it up the chain. It could however be more of a liability than they are willing to be burdened with at this time.
Let us not forget, that we agreed when signing onto this forum to do the following (there's more but this is pertinent):
By clicking the Agree button, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of ANY laws.
The owners of ExamNotes forums have the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason.
2) No illegal software trade here!
The parties that be might want to add a line listing the intention of the site or further delineate the do's and don't to eliminate issues like this.
Having been through an Microsoft audit once, you learn to read EULAs and take the subject seriously.
BTW if you really want a laugh, read the Microsoft 2000 OEM EULA as well as Office EULA. I think it mentions something about impregnating your Dog with Kittens if you violate it.
Best Wishes,

| I guess my post the other day was kind of harsh. It seemed like the people who posted were questioning the guys integrity, wasn't really thinking about the idea of selling stuff through this website. i thought about it, and i guess it isn't right- it should be on ebay or somewhere and not here

| I think the biggest issue here is honesty. Those videos cost only $299 about 2-3 weeks ago. I purchased some for myself around 3-4 weeks ago and they only cost $299. They have just recently raised the price to $399. |
