And today's poser is ....

Q31. You are the administrator for your company's Windows 2000 network. You have a Windows 2000 Server computer that is your DHCP server.

You have been experiencing trouble with the DHCP server so you decide to turn on DHCP logging. Later you view the log and notice several events of Event ID Code 02.

What does the Event Message signify?

A. The log was started.

B. The log was stopped.

C. The log was temporarily paused due to low disk space.

D. A lease was renewed by a client.

Good Luck .... see you tomorrow for the answer!!

Correct Answers: C

DHCP has a logging feature which enables an administrator to view DHCP actions and errors. DHCP server logging is not resource-intensive. Because it uses a limited amount of disk space, it can be left enabled.

In this scenario, you have been experiencing problems with your DHCP server. After enabling logging, you see Event 02 several times in the log file. This tells you that the hard drive is filling up. This is probably the problem causing all your trouble.

Serveral Event ID Codes are used to indicate information about the type of service event Logged. Event ID 00 means that the log was started. Event ID 01 means that the log was stopped and Event ID 11 means that a client renewed a lease.
