| Best of luck, welcome to 216. What kind of lab access do you have? | |

| At work we setup a small Lan that we test on. It has two servers and three workstations so we can pretty much do anything. | |

| Welcome back bbraunstein! With this hardware, a good book and enough "hands-on" you will slay the beast easily. | |

| Thanks! I know I'll do it so the question becomes WHEN and not IF. | |

| word of advice: get as much hands-on as you can. Best book for this one is the TCP/IP book in the Win2K resource kit. Let us know if we can help! | |

| Thanks for the advice, freak. I heard that the win2k resource kit is EXTREMELY helpful here. Ordering it today...
And thank god that this exam is not easy and requires hands-on experience...it just adds more credibility to those of us who do it right and put in the blood, sweat, tears, pain, agony, suffering, etc. etc. etc...

| me? I dunno... 2002-11-22, 12:46 pm |
| Would that resource kit be the 'Microsoft Windows 2000 TCP/IP Protocols and Services Technical Reference' Thomas Lee and Joseph Davies, ISBN 0-7356-0556-4? | |

| Me? I dunno... I certainly hope not! I hope the test doesn't dig that deep. I believe you will find what they are talking about here. It will be under the W2K Server Resource Kit link. This is good stuff. I have used this extensively for 210, 215 and my studies for 216.

| Great link 'Kidvegas19' This is the nugget of information that has most every thing you need not only for the exams, but on the job as well.
The MS site is very deep, and to some degree, uncharted. With membership to the MCP site and Technet emails, you find links to trial versions and betas, documentation, etc.. The better you know the site, the easier studying gets. | |

| Thanks everyone for sharing such great information. This is good stuff.
By the way, there is nothing like tearing down your LAN and rebuilding it from square one because you can.

I can't imagine any win2k admin without the resource kit, technet, or this not often mentioned book (atleast around here).
