| same forest? or is their a trust relationship issue? | |

| Seperate forests. I have tried to establish a relationship but they cannot see each other. Trying to connect through domains and trusts, I browse for the other domain, and it doesn't show up.
trying to connect to Forest through sites and services, I type in the name of the target Forest, I get the error message that the domain name was not validated because the specified domain does not exist or could not be contacted.
dc will ping dc, no problem. | |

| Is DNS working within each domain? | |

| What IP addressing scheme is each domain using? | |
| me? I dunno... 2002-10-31, 2:02 pm |
| I was using the respective schema master's for gateways, assuming that I could just point them to each other. I had forgotten they had to be multihomed to act as routers. I don't have it working yet, but that is what I'm going to change next.
The respective schema masters have had AD installed as the first computer in a new forest, they only have one domain connected to each of them as I only have so many computers, but the dns, dhcp and active directory is working fine in each forest/domain.
forest one is on 192.168.100.x forest two is on 192.168.1.x
domain controllers may have pinged each other only because of both being connected to unswitched hub? |
