in the past weeks i go to the office of a friend to install win2k. i install win2k, sp3, dns, ad, antivirus, etc.

in the sp3 download, i contact the ms site, and download the sp3 100+ mb in a snap.

the dowload windows report 500k/s or more..... i dowload 1 mb on 2 seconds!!! i never see such speed on a office.

what kind of dedicate line is used there?... i`m very confused and frustated with this speed!!

Sounds like a T1 to me, which is what we have.

sounds like more bandwidth than a single t1.
Windows reports downloads in kilobytes.
A T1 will only download at 193 kilobytes per second or 1544 kilobits.
So they either have a bonded T1 solution or a DS3 with provisioned bandwidth.
Sounds like 3 DS1's bonded together for internet.

I agree. On a really really good day my 1.5/128 DSL tops out around 170-180kb/sec or so.
