Hi,
Can anyone tell me what setup do we need at home to prepare for this exam. How many PC`s do we need etc... How many domains?/..etc.

I appreciate your help

You're going to need at least two computers for an effective learning setup, and the more the better for this exam. They don't have to be anything elaborate. I have a 600, 450, and 400 and they're working out fine, though I wish I had more. Two of my computers have 2 NICs in them to mess around with routing, and I've got a null modem cable connected between two of them that I use for demand dial routing. I also bought two external 56k modems of E-Bay that I'll be using for RRAS since that seems to be the majority of the exam. I multiboot Windows too, one for my normal setup and one that I use for experimenting around with. That way if I screw it up, it doesn't really matter. The more "realistic" your setup is the more you'll learn, and the better prepared you'll be for the exam. Hands on is a must!

Great reply, Slinky!!!

You can even get by with hardware older than that, I have had 2 p166 in my stable, a couple of 350's and a 550.

The cool thing is when you get 2k server installed, you can do most anything via Terminal Services Client so you don't need a whole bunch of monitors and keyboards. So make sure to install Terminal Services in admin mode on all of your servers. The client is installed with the installation of ADMINPAK.MSI, which you will want on all of your computers anyway.

Hi there and welcome to the forum.
If you need the operating systems (Win200 Professional and Win2000 Advanced Server)
I have surplus copies from my MOC courses and would be glad to send them on if you require. They are 120 day evaluation copies.
Just keep installing them. Really a must if you want to study properly.
As you will notice i am only just across the ditch. Let me know if you are interested.

Having two modems will help out alot, thats if you have two phone lines to go with them. As far as the number of domains, you can get by with one. I don't really see any reason why you need more than one, other than maybe zone delegation, but you don't have to have AD installed to delegate zones. I would say one is OK.
