the beast was killed using Rockets!!!
|
|
|
| ...... today early in the morning, i eat something.... go to the exam center with enough time.... go to the bathroom and wait for the exam people.... i wait for door opening on the exam room... trying to see the PC where the BEAST are waiting me....
.. the time come... 9:15 am.... "ALEX, your exam is waiting"... i go to the computer and provide credentials and signatures... seat on front on the computer and complete the small survey ....
Initial TEXT on screen denote 65 questions warnings and 200 minutes exam + 30 additional minutes for non-native english locations and english adaptations due to non-english speaking persons... "GOOD"... 230 minutes is more than enough to relax and shoot the answers....
The exam begin....
The beast start with a "aparently" easy subneting question... I start to resolve and see that very complexes math are needed... so i decide to mark REVIEW to check this question later..." .... 1rst point for the beast!!
2nd one... monitoring using network monitor... easy.... 3th to 20 was EXTREMELY easy for me.... dhcp / dhcp / dhcp / rras .... easy..... knowledge on MOC / Trascenders and Exam Essentials WAS ESSENTIALS..!!!
The exams appears like a PIECE of CAKE....
... mmmmmmmmmmm NICE!!! but after question 23 ALL QUESTIONS become TOUGH!!! SEVERALs and i say SEVERALS!!! "choice all that apply" questions, lot of routing tables with BUGUS and incomplete scenearios!!!
but after question 45... normal path returns.... normal answers.... some RRAS etc... ANY PKI / IPSEC or CA!!!!!
but on question 58... start the more difficult..... only one easy CA and one TOUGH!!! CA answered for elimination....
i finsish the exam... 11 questions was pending for review.... HERE tHE FORUM make their part!!!!!..... one questions regarding novell 3.11 and novell 4... remembering posts with 802.2 and 802.3 this past week!!!! and i have for review 4 subneting questions... MEDIUM complexety... here FREAK and forums people come to MIND... i use the scientific calculator provided on the exam.... and Ì SEE THAT WAS EASY QUESTIONS.. NOT MEDIUM!!!.... i made the table from the begining... i remember all the steps and explanations on the subneting guide from Freaks!!! and i ACE it this questions...
some questions like wins push/pull and convergence times was ACED thanks to the forum BIG debates and some DNS questions was correctly answered thanks to my OLD stupid easy questions here....
at the end... i press END EXAM.... the hard disk start to run and make some noise... a screen with a message "computing results" appears.... my heart bit was increased on 200% or more!!! and a message saying "CONGRATULATIONS; YOU PASSED!" appears and the beast fall into the ground burned with my rockets, swords, AK47 etc.... the SHIELD of the forum posts and answer make their JOB on a excelent WAY...
now i`m on a relaxing mode..... i go this weekend to SIX FLAGS with some friends and take some days of rest and relax.... and after that..... see what exam is next... 70218 for mcsa... or 70217 for mcse continuos preparation...
THANKS TO ALL THE PEOPLE, FRIENDS AND PROFESIONALS ON THIS FORUM THAT MAKE THIS SUSCEFULLY PASSED EXAM A REALLITY!!! KEEP THE GOOD WORK!!!!

| Finally
Good job! Congrats on your pass - Do 217 next and follow that immediately with 219, then do 218 for the MCSA. Doing 217 will help prepare you for 218. 219 and 217 cover the same material but 219 is case study. Or you could take all this fresh 216 knowledge and prepare quickly for 221 which is the case study design exam of the same material you covered in 216.
Either way, enjoy your weekend and much needed down time and have fun at Six Flags!

thanks!!!!!! you help on the forum was extremely important for me to pass this ugly test... what is case study?.. sorry my english... remember the +30 time on the test for me...

| You read a case study (or short story) and answer approx. 10 questions. Read another case study and answer another 10 questions. You get 4 of these on the 221 and 5 on 219. I liked the design exams better than the others. Check out this link and download the demo. http://www.microsoft.com/traincert/exams/70-219.asp
It's not an actual exam case, but gives you an idea of what it is like.

| Hey man! congratulations... Excellent weekend's begin!
Hey "man", felicitaciones!...tremendo comienzo de fin de semana. Espero transmitas de ahora en adelante tu experiencia con el 216...yo soy el primero que lo pide y requiere, jajaja
I will take mine on English (i still do not know when). In spanish time is much more than enought, but i'm afraid of bad spanish-english translates, like "galletas" instead cokies. That was your case?
Good job anyway!
PS: what are those famous Freak notices regarded to the test and subnetting? Congratulations again!
| cm2gj 2002-10-18, 10:24 pm |
| hello my friend.
i take all my exams on english language. i never take a computer exam on spanish. spanish is not a technical language... the cokie is a good example!!!!
i can provide you my experience with this exam. i really see today the exam very tough, more than the first time when i fail. the first time i don`t make any study, i make 70210 and 215 so easy and i have a bad and wrong feeling that pass 216 without study and BOOOOOOOOOOOM.......... imposible.... 70216 is tough...
today i feel why is called the beast....
regarding the exam:
65 questions
200 min
small survey at begining.
LOTTTTTTTTTTs of DHCP
almost 12 about DNS
almost 10 about WINS
almost 7 about RRAS
3 of subneting (easy / medium complex)
2 monitoring
1 IPSEC
3 CA (1 super confusing)
i can`t give you details due to agreement, you know... but at least you know what to study!!! good luck my friend!!!

| Congratulations cm2gj, well done, and thanks for the detailed account of your trials and tribulations, it helps to take away some of the fears from those of us who are still studying for the Beast. Knowing that perseverance and the right study materials will arm the student well is a big help. Enjoy the relaxation time before your next major assault. | |

| Great job! Best of luck on the rest of them! | |

| My exams are always like this - the questions go in runs of easy-hard.
Always puts you on edge though when the first one is hard. I guess I will go back to the subnetting study, that and routing I am weak on. Want to take this in the next week!
