Hey ppls. This question is a little off the topic of 216, but you all seem to be on top of things and since this is the forum I'm currently monitoring (taking 216 soon!), I thought I'd put a question to you all regarding Exchange 2000.

I'm running Echange 2000 Enterprise on a 2000 Server machine. I stumbled accross 1 sentence in the docs for exchange stating that the minimum requirement for Instant Messaging is Advanced Server. Is this true??? Not that I don't trust MS, it's just that I haven't encountered this information anywhere else.

I have Advanced server, but it doesn't seem to install. The CD is corrupt or something...

Anyhoo, appreciate any ideas you all might have.

Thanx

NetSlider.

differences between server and advanced server are cluster / network load balancing, and more hardware supported like number of cpus, memory, etc........

the 2k exchange on normal, enterprise and conference server only require 2k server with nntp, smtp, iis, sp2 .

check
