| You are the administrator for your Windows 2000 network. On your network you currently have 15 WINS Servers deployed in a hub-and-spoke design. All member spoke servers use push/pull partnership with the WINS hub server.
During the next year, you plan to deploy 10 new WINS servers.
How should this deployment take place?
A. Redesign your WINS implementation to employ a bus design.
B. Redesign your WINS implementation to employ a ring design.
C. Redesign your WINS implementation to employ a multiple hub-and-spoke design.
D. When ready for implementation, add each of the new servers as a push/pull partner with a member spoke server.
E. When ready for implementation, add each of the new servers to the current hub-and-spoke design, setting up the push/pull relationship with the WINS hub server at that time.
F. When ready for implementation, add the first five of the new servers to the current hub-and-spoke design, setting up the push/pull relationship with the WINS hub server at that time. Add the sixth server as a push/pull partner with a member spoke server.
Enjoy your weekend - see you Monday with the answer.

| I'll take E also. | |
|
| What an earth is a hub-and-spoke network? I've not seen this anywhere in my 70-216 study books, videos, or dumps! | |

| Thanks Pavlov... I'll read up on that tonight!
I searched the web for hub-and-spoke networks and couldn't find much, but I did see it in one of the Transcenders exams!

| And you'll see it again during the 216 exam. Definitely read the article in the link - it's pretty good. | |

F. When ready for implementation, add the first five of the new servers to the current hub-and-spoke design, setting up the push/pull relationship with the WINS hub server at that time. Add the sixth server as a push/pull partner with a member spoke server.
A. Incorrect: The hub-and-spoke design is the most efficient and, as your network grows, you will want to implement multiple hubs-and-spokes, not a bus design.
B. Incorrect: The hub-and-spoke design is the most efficient and, as your network grows, you will want to implement multiple hubs-and-spokes, not a ring design.
C. Correct: Because the hub-and-spoke is the most efficient design, you should move toward multiple hubs-and-spokes as your network grows.
D. Incorrect: The new servers should reside in multiple hubs-and-spokes and be configured as a push/pull partner with the WINS hub server.
E. Incorrect: Although the hub-and-spoke design is best, consider implementing multiple hubs-and-spokes.
F. Incorrect: You should maintain a hub-and-spoke design with all spokes configured as a replication partner with the WINS hub server. However, implement mulitple hubs-and-spokes for better efficiency.
Now back to my own studies

This is a perfect example of why I recommend studying the 221 material if you can get your hands on it. You will definetly find similar kinds of questions on the exam. The 221 study material covers this subject and others very thoroughly.

| Zaraspook, it's a bit late for me now to start studying the 221 material because my exam in next week. Hopefully I've done enough to pass by using Technet, Transcenders, Sybex books, and examnote.net!! |
