I have a short question. What is a stub?

The term is dropped in my book without ever explaining it and the Win help files say "enable the area as a stub.." or "identify stub..." I can't find out what it is.

Exam Cram. And if you tell me that is the book you had before you failed then - goodbye world.

I used MS Press .... I cant blame the books ... I did not spend more time studying and understanding the books. I became lazy after I passed two exams and I thought I can just use those braindumps in #216. MY BIG MISTAKE! ... that's my wake-up call ... back to my books and do my labs. bye-bye braindumps, i'll use you after I fully understand #216

"Understanding" is the keyword here.

You can do it!

Hey guys, well Im in a CCNA Routing course right now, and I have completed about 10 courses, including the whole MCSE 2000 track. I just heard of a stub for the first time this week. What it says in my CCNA book is, that a stub is a small network that only carries packets to and from local hosts, even if it has paths to other networks, it does not carry traffic for other networks.
Hopefully that will help a little. Check out technet for more info. Later guys

I am not sure of the context it was used in your book, but, it could mean stub network. This means there is only one way to connect to that network and it has a static route to it. If this is not even close to the context it was used in, then, I don't have a clue. Good luck.

"The backbone area is connected to all of the other OSPF areas, which are typically stub areas." -Exam Cram
