| I passed 70-216 today with a 680 and was very happy just to get out of that test with a passing mark.
There was a lot more NAT than I expected, and one subnetting question where I got that jack-lighted-deer look on my face and seg-faulted there in the exam room.
One more core to go -- 70-217 gets it next week.

| HUGE CONGRATS STORMWALKER!!!!!
216 is not an easy test. I know how you feel having it done!
You'll like 217 after this beastly one
Good Luck!! | |

| Hi Poudin,
Well I used pretty much anything I could get my hands on for this exam. Personally I found that Selftest software was the most helpful though. They really get into the nittygritty details with WINS, DNS, DHCP etc... which is what you need for this exam. I also borrowed the 216 resource kit book from a classmate to help my poor brain. Technet, the helpfiles, studyguides from examnotes, mcseguide.com, and brainbuzz.com. I messed up my computer at home so bad I couldn't log on....what else...ooh my MOC book, and a whole lot of white papers from MS.
I failed this exam my first try(i really don't think I was ready)I got hammered with Rip and OSPF questions and 26 choose all that apply. My second go at it I got 790, and what saved my butt was being more comfortble with the choose all that apply questions. The exam focused on different topics on my two exams....unfortunatly for this exam you can't narrow it down to a few things to focus on. But know DNS very, very well.
Well I'm done writing this little novel here
Let me know if you need help or have any questions

| I used Exam Cram, Troytec, the Brainbuzz summaries, the MOC and a mini W2K LAN I conned another department where I work into letting me set up. <Amazing what you can negotiate for when you explain that members of that department may - uh ummmm - have trouble logging in? */Extortion the choice of the IT Generation!/*>
The exam deals with SNMP and I actually DID what the question asked for on this little test LAN.
I can't stress this enough, READ THE QUESTIONS CAREFULY! In fact, you might want to read through the whole test first, jot down answers that come readily to mind then go through the exam again.
Then mark anything you aren't sure of and go back to it after you're done. That's what I did...
Good Luck poudin... | |

| I got hit heavy with WINS questions, and tons of replication questions. RRAS was a big topic also. I was also glad to get out with a passing grade. The test really, really sucks. Very detailed questions, and like storm said. Read the questions very carefully. Its amazing how much difference one small word can make. | |

| sablackspot: CONGRATULATIONS ON THE PASS!!
Strangely enough I did not see a whole lot of WINS questions on my test....
But yeah, I had to sharpen my fangs and claws after this one.
|
| I found it very odd that I had so much on WINS. I bet I had 10 that dealt solely with WINS and Wins replication. Kinda crazy, but you gotta answer what they throw at you. | |

|
| Congrats, I will be trying tomorrow...
Don't mind the questions about WINS, hope they don't ask too much about ipsec/cs.
|
| Passed today with... 620 :-) YEAH! |
