| No. Windows 2000 exams will run concurrently with Windows XP/.NET exams which will be introduced next year. In order to be certified as MCSE on Windows 2000, you can take your exams on purely 2000, or purely XP/.NET or combination of both.
Microsoft will normally annouce retirement or discontinuation of exams more than one year in advance. | |

| I heard that Microsoft estimated that the MCSE 2k would be good for 6 years. So I am assuming it will be good for about 4-5 years. | |

| Yeah they are introducing the new Windows 2000 exam because they need it for the new MCSA certification.

| Microsoft is offering a new certification that you may want to look at, it is MCSA and if you are studying for your MCSE it's another certification on your way to being an MCSE. Check out Microsofts sight for this. It will require that after my 70216 test I will take one more test.
The test is currently in Beta version which will make it a little more difficult to study for since there are no study materials.
As for XP, you can switch over to XP certifications but they are based on W2K technonolgy and MS is not requiring you to be XP certified at this time. Keep on your track |
