Hello All,

At the moment i do have DHCP server running on router. But it doesnt work as a dns server.on network i can see computers but for every connection i need to enter user name and password. So when i create an folder which is linked on the server.it asks first time user name and password.I entered user name and password and clicked save password.I mean i dont want see password box when i want to connect server or other computers all the time.I know its a bit strange.

The other thinks is i can use my server properly.DNS, AD, When i setup dns and AD it suppose to work fine. Also i f i m gonna setup DHCP on windows 2000 server it should provide connection with router and provide internet access to computers.

Im using computer ip address 192.168.254.10 default gateway 192.168.254.90

I created DNS server. its candaner.com i add zone lookup zones .i add 192.168.254.11 on name server folder. ( I dont know if i`ve done wrong)???

AD name abc.com and it seems ok .But when go to clients computers it doesnt let me join the domain name.

i think im doing somethink wrong ?? any idea????

when i try to join domain name im getting following th error message
abc.com domain name.

Note: This information is intended for a network administrator. If you are not your network's administrator, notify the administrator that you received this information, which has been recorded in the file C:\WINDOWS\debug\dcdiag.txt.

The domain name abc might be a NetBIOS domain name. If this is the case, verify that the domain name is properly registered with WINS.

If you are certain that the name is not a NetBIOS domain name, then the following information can help you troubleshoot your DNS configuration.

The following error occurred when DNS was queried for the service location (SRV) resource record used to locate a domain controller for domain abc:

The error was: "DNS name does not exist."
(error code 0x0000232B RCODE_NAME_ERROR)

The query was for the SRV record for _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.abc

Common causes of this error include the following:

- The DNS SRV record is not registered in DNS.

- One or more of the following zones do not include delegation to its child zone:

abc
. (the root zone)
