I read an article that microsoft was going to retire win 2k server by 2006. If this is the case, just how long will the MCSE/MCSA 2k be good for?

Microsoft was initially going to retire the predecessor to Win2k, NT4, however in the end, they decided against it. Therefore there is a strong likelyhood that the same will be true with Win2k.

So, I should go for XP now? I read the article. Now I am not sure if I want to go through the win2k track to get my mcse? Any suggestion. I am thinking even if the certification is phased out. I can take two or three exams be certified in 2003.

I'm sure that the certification is safe for several more years yet. I figure that by the time they do decide to start retiring the MCSA/MCSE 2k certs, there'll be an even newer OS and NOS than XP and W2K3, that it will be just as easy if, not better, to migrate over to those certs.
