How detailed is the 70-210 exam?

| Hey guys!
I'm about half way through my MS Press book for 70-210 and I started to wonder how detailed the exam is? By detailed, I mean do I have to remember what tabs are available in each dialog box and what the possible options are for each one? I've never written a MS exam so I don't really know what to expect. Thanks for your help.

I passed the 70-210 two years ago this last Jan.
I have the MS Press books on the entire MCSE line. If you have them memorized completely, you "MIGHT" pass. They aren't totally inclusive of all the knowledge the test is after. I'd get at least one other book. I used 3.
I took the Beta tests a few months ago for Server & Workstation. They are much more detailed than the earlier exams. Nobody will braindump their way through these.
Be familier with, but don't ponder too long on the tabs.
Know troubleshooting & instalation inside out.
Know the recovery console, how to install it [there's more than one way], what options are available & the command switches.
Know printing & everything that applies to it.
Know permissions, policies & templates.
Know networking - every possible aspect of it, especially modems & VPN's.
Have a VERY good understanding of what is on the 70-215 test, because about 1/3 of any 70-210 test I've taken has looked more like the Server test than a workstation test. If you don't know most of 70-215, you're not ready to take a 70-210 test.
Transcenders are best & SelfTest is about second. Boson isn't bad either.

Know them for instalation & the command console.
Between the two tests I had about 15 questions on them.
[ I took the tests back to back - so I'm a little foggy as to which test had what questions ]
The workstation test wanted the switches for network install.

| Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to completely finish the book by early next week and then I'll have 2 full weeks to review which should be sufficient. | |
