A user at a Windows NT4.0 workstation is logged into a Windows 2000 domain. He has some files out on a Windows 2000 file server. The user reports that from this workstation, he can't make these files available for offline usage.

Why?

A. You need to install the AD client on the NT4.0 workstation.

B. The offline files and folders option is not available on Windows NT4.0

C. The user hasn't configured his NT4.0 workstation to enable offline files.

D. The Windows 2000 file server is not configured to allow caching of files for offline use.

Good luck and see you tomorrow for the answer!!

I can't say I know the answer... but logically, I can guess.... I think it's 'D':

D. The Windows 2000 file server is not configured to allow caching of files for offline use.

Anyway, I will wait for the correct answer.. Thanks Spid for varying the QoD.

If it was a 2K machine i'd go with C , but since it is 4.0, then i'd have to say B

Win 98 has a form of offline so I'm going to guess NT 4.0 does and rule out B.

C & D seem to be real good candidates, as D has been picked I'll go with C to be different.

Final answer "C"

And the answer is.....B

Windows NT4.0, both server and workstation, cannot cache files for offline use. However, a Windows 2000 computer can make files available for offline use from a Windows NT4.0 server or workstation.

Nice job!
