I am taking the test on Tuesday and I am on major study this weekend. I have practiced with Transcender for Pro & Server and I am wondering how close they are to the real tests. I am not doing well enough on the Trancenders but I can't stop being nervous about the test and I don't normally get nervous from such things.

If your own win2k pro starts up about 60% of the time correctly, and you can do about 60% of what you need to do on it, and you can find 40% of the stuff that you rarely use just by pointing and clicking on stuff, and 60% of the time you are at office using it, and 40% of the time your gut instinct is right, and given that about 25% of the time you can absolutely guess your way through a multiple choice question, then you are guaranteed 100% a passing score of at least 60%.... whether you dissolve transcender and have it with coffee for breakfast or the actual test comes out of the monitor and thumbs it's nose at you a few times.

That's pretty much the long and short of it..

most of the time.

Blackwidow:

Is 60% passing then? I took the transcender prep test and scored between 70%and 80% on the 3 practice exams and eventually scored in the 90%'s after taking them successive times (I guess the answers stick in memory after a while).

I'm still basing my overall knowledge to be around 75%, but the transcender indicates a passing score must be 78% or higher. I'm guessing from what you stated that this does not reflect a minimum passing grade on the actual 210 exam (I hope? )?

Calm down, you'll do fine. I don't use transcenders but the general consensus is that they're quite a bit harder than the actual exams.

As far as the 78% number they gave you, many of these test prep companies have "pass it the first time" guarantees... if they had it their way you'd spend 6 months on each exam just so they don't have to pay out everytime some overeager kid fails them.

You'll do fine.

Thanks all for the input. I'll be sure to let you know how it goes. The only place I still have any trouble is with unatended install details, Foreign language support, and some auditing items.

I was hitting 70 - 80% on the Transenders, too. You'll do fine if you are doing that well. Just make sure you read the explanations for each question, why an answer is wrong and why an answer is right. That helps when you get a question that is similar, but not quite the same.

Good luck!

I should warn you that you should let transcender 'check for updates' as well. This should should install any new objectives as they come out. I was studying stuff that was a bit outdated on the transcender sims and it's a good thing I got some supplemental material from actual-exams.com

Just a suggestion.

I took the test today. It was quite a bit harder than I expected and my heart stopped when I clicked the final button... but it came up PASSED!

Good job DesertDog

I passed today too, but I definately think that Transcender doesn't guarantee a passing score in itself, although it definately did help. Using a book or 2 for fundamentals and then the practice questions on the braindumps site really helped prep for the actual test as well.

I passed the Transcender with a 820 on Sunday and then passed the real thing on Tuesday. I know some people don't like the Transcenders. They think they are cheating or some crazy logic like that. I think they are a good study aid and they prepare you for questions that may be on the exam.

I had the new exam and I thought the exam was fair. There were some challenging questions, one or two that really were not well written and didn't fully explain the objectives (if you really know your stuff then you will know the answer but the detailed information that they were looking for falls outside the scope of the exam). You will definitely have at least one or two questions in which you will know what a high security workstation template does : )

Good Luck on the exam guys, I am off to slay the beast so I can get my MCSA since Microsoft will take A+ but not 217.... go figure.

Cheers,

RM
