How deep does the rabbit hole go?

| I'm studing for the 70-210 and was feeling overwhelmed. This will be my first Microsoft exam, so I am not sure what to expect. How different are these tests from, say, the CompTIA's, as far as format and types of questions. Also, and what has my head spinning, is how much of the paths, tabs, switches, etc. do you need to know. Is it general information, or really specific, such as certain permissions being 4 advanced/tab-layers down? Any lab-sim stuff?
Anyway, you get the picture. Any help from the experienced would be greatly welcomed.
Thanks,

| If you're talking about like Comptia's A+ exam then htere is quite a bit of difference. There no one sentence questions and most of the time there are not one sentence answers. However, if you understand the material and you've had some hands on you should do find. | |

| They aren't adaptive for one thing. They try to trick you! Buwahahahahahha!!!!!! However, like ccaya said, if you know your stuff then you will be ok. The exam has some general questions, but the majority focus on areas of the OS. Hope this helps. | |

| If you are going to take the test at Prometric or Vue, then the GUI format is identical. Plain, boring white screen with check boxes and radio buttons. You may get a few pint-and-click or drag-and-drop questions, also. 50 questions total. | |

Heehee - they only offered me a cup of coffee!! Which test centre did you use?

| I know it pretty well, but when it comes to this item being located on that tab 5 levels down, i get twisted around, ie. rt. click folder --> properties --> security tab --> Advanced button --> auditing --> add --> do whatever. Stuff like that. I hope I'm looking too deep. I'm getting psiked out i think.
I'm taking it at my school, via prometrics.

| how long have you been working at it in school? how much experience of win2k have you had outside school hours? how long until your exam?
yes, it is a bit scarey when i look at some of the practise questions for 210, basing them on my a+ and network+ experience, but i am hoping that as i work my way through it, everything just seems less daunting.
when i opened my first a+ book, it was so overwhelming, but i worked at it and got it. it was easy in retrospect. i am hoping the m$ exams are the same.
i know i can do it. so can you.

Thanks for the support. Yeah, in retrospect, my A,N,i-Net +'s were easy. I think i making a moutain out of a mole hill. I've worked with 2K for 1.5 yrs. before school, but nothing too extensive like setting in-depth permissions and Counter logs. I plan on taking my exam in about 2 weeks (maybe). School was OK, with what they could teach you in a Month. Good luck to you.

I checked out the Link, Holly Cow. I know that I shouldn't let the big paragraphs get to me, but on first glance, it is a bit daunting.
My wife is planning on taking in in about a month. She is Bi-Lingual Spanish/English. Anybody else a native spanish speaker taking MS tests?
They didn't even give me coffe.

| The question sizes might seem daunting, but also keep in mind, the time limits are not the same as CompTIA. Last I checked there were 50 questions for which you have 150 minutes and the test would allow you to mark questions to come back to.
