| Let's try another permissioning questions again.
Tahoon is a member of 3 groups that have NTFS permissions assigned to a file called Stuff.xls. She is not an administrator or a member of the administrators group. She is just a user.
The first group has NTFS permission Read.
The second group has NTFS permission Write.
The third group has NTFS permission Deny Full Control (i.e. No Access).
In addition to the above NTFS permission assignments on the file Stuff.xls, Tahoon also has Share permission Full Control to the folder named Junk on a network server in which Stuff.xls resides.
What is Tahoon's effective permission regarding access to this file?
A. Full Control
B. Read
C. Write
D. Modify
E. Take Ownership
F. No Access
Good luck and see you tomorrow for the answer!!

| I will say F. No Access. | |
| DSComputers 2003-06-11, 11:21 am |
| I'll go with F as well. | |
| cramersaunders 2003-06-11, 11:40 am |
| F | |
| onoski 2003-06-11, 1:11 pm |
| That's a tricky one Spid, but deny always rules out other privileges. So I say {F}final answer | |

| Boulware5, are you joining the MCSE bandwagon it's cool as I know you learn to know the stuff inside out and not just for certification purposes. I know this for a fact from reading your intellectual Linux contributions. | |

Yah...going for 70-210. Probably will go for MCSA since I can use n+ and a+ towards it.

| Yippee! I'm mentioned here..
Well, let me remember the lesson Spid teached me...
The Least restrictive NTFS permit.: FC
The Least restrictive Share permit. : NA
==> The Most restrictive of the two is:
No Access | |

| Is she accessing this file locally or over the net? | |

Doesn't really matter since the share permission is Full Control. When the share is setup with FC then you only need to concern yourself with the NTFS permissions which apply both locally and remotely.
