You support a small programming group that all use Windows 2000 Professional on their PCs. The programmers have come to you stating that they are struggling for screen realestate when displaying multiple sections of code and compiler windows. The systems currently have a single 19" monitor attached to each one of them.

The programmers have large desk areas so physical space is not a contraint. They are also aware that Windows 2000 Professional supports multiple monitors. They want to purchase and setup multiple monitors for there systems.

2 part question.

(1) How many monitors can a Windows 2000 system support?

A. 3
B. 5
C. 8
D. 10
E. 15

(2) Multiple displays have to use either PCI or AGP port devices to work properly with Windows 2000 Professional?

A. True
B. False

Good luck and see you tomorrow for the answer!!

Ok,

(1) I thought my book says it supports up to 9 and I looked it up and it says 9. And since 9 isn't one of the choices, maybe my book is wrong.

(2) I will say false because built in adapters on the motherboard can be used as secondary adapters.

I'll go with "D" and True. (each additional monitor requires either a PCI or AGP graphics card.)

D and A
If someone can loan me 10 20" LCD thin panels monitors, I'd love to see how it looks in my office

Part 1) is D, I'm pretty sure the limit is 10 monitors.

And part 2) is definately True, you can only use PCI or AGP adaptors in this configuration.

A. 10 although I'm sure Deja posted a pic with a user having 11.

B. You can have 1 AGP then all the rest have to be PCI, as you only have one AGP socket on a PC, so I guess it's TRUE
