| I am reading about SysPrep and a bit confused. Does SysPrep create a disk image or do you need a 3rd party software like Disk Image or Norton Ghost to do this?
Thanks. | |

| I found my answer. You do need third party software.
The Sybex mentions it but does not clearly state it I found my answer in the certcites
guide. | |

| We use Ghost to deploy our sysprep'd images. | |

| i thought you could do it without third party software | |

| That's probably why you got that question wrong. | |

| Per M$:
quote:
You can use the System Preparation tool (Sysprep) for Windows to prepare a working Windows installation to be cloned. After you run Sysprep, you can use third-party disk-duplication software to create and apply the images. Depending on the third-party software you use to create and apply the images, you may be able to shrink or increase the disk image to fit the size of the target disk. For example, the image may have been created using a 12-GB disk but be applied to an 8-GB disk.
We always used PQDI, (PowerQuest Drive Image). Tried to get the company to switch to Ghost, as I always liked it better. |
