Good response to yesterday's question! Here is today's...

Here's a "fill in the blank" question. Good luck!

While you are performing a Remote Installation Service (RIS) installation of Windows 2000 Professional on a computer that has an Intel Pro 100+ Management adapter, the computer pauses at the end of the first phase of Setup and displays the following message:

Restarting computer

What is the cause?

Why would they? Weekends are for fun! Go outside and have some fun!

I had fun mowing the lawn today

I normally teach a pc repair class today but the next session has been postponed.

Okay... everybody is totally "off" subject here. Let's focus people! This is the Q of the Day thread after all.

But you're probably right. It's just too damn hot here to be running around outside! (Upper 90's with an Heat Index in the low 100's!)

Well, now that we've had weather reports from all over..... here is the answer to the Q of the Day.

Here's a "fill in the blank" question. Good luck!

Restarting computer

What is the cause?

This problem can occur if the Intel Pro 100+ Management adapter has an older Pre-Boot Execution Environment (PXE) ROM.

You need to get an updated (PXE) ROM for the adapter.

Sorry to all, I goofed and left out part of the question. It should have continued with the following:

The computer does not restart, but the installation proceeds if you restart the computer manually.

Guess I need to finish my second cup of coffee before posting these questions.

And Now for Today's Weather report:

Currently Sunny and 70 degrees.
