| Since I dont have dsl yet, I am practicing this using Dial up. Now I have AOL.
How exactly does internet sharing works using dial up?
Can, everyone over the network connect to the interent using IE?
I am a bit confused about this. | |

| Yes, you must have a NIC connecting to the internal network. This is where the ICS would be enabled. | |

| You must have two NIC's on the machine that will directly access the internet. The NIC that connects to your LAN will be the one that has ICS enabled. When you configure ICS, it will give this NIC a private address. The LAN will connect through this NIC to the other NIC that is exposed to the public side. Yes, the LAN will be able to connect through IE. If I were you, I would invest in router. Then you won't have to share bandwidth. Each PC will have a dedicated pipe throught the router to the internet. Do you have 2000 server? This is required for NAT? | |
