| Hello,
I hope you can help me or tell me where I can find these answers.
I read somewhere that Microsoft is changing exam 70-210 to 76-210.
Exam 76-210 is supposed to be the newer version.
Should I be asking for exam 76-210 when I take the exam?
I would like to take it sometime in June.
Am I at a disadvantage if I take the exam 70-210?
I also heard that for a limited time you can take the 76-210 free of charge.
Is this true? If so, when does this offer expire?

MICROSOFT'S ANSWER
This is in response to your e-mail regarding exam 76-210.
Exam prefixes such as 70, 76 and 71 are internal Microsoft designations and are used only for tracking purposes. As far as candidates are concerned, both 70- and 76- exams will count fully toward certifications.
The refresh and the live versions of these exams cover the same topics in the same proportions; the refresh versions are longer and contain more questions. The refresh versions contain new question types which present a more realistic visual representation of the products candidates are being tested on. This is to ensure the exam experience more consistently reflects the tasks candidates might perform on the job. For more details about the new exam question types, refer to the Microsoft Web site http://www.microsoft.com/traincert/...nnovations.asp.
The free "refresh" exams are being offered for a limited time, so please register early in order to guarantee your spot. The "refresh" version of 76-210 will be available May 12-28, 2003. The "refresh" version of 76-215 will be available May 12-June 2, 2003. You are eligible to take one or both exams. Your participation in this exam offer will help the MCP program team ensure that the final versions of these exams measure the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the corresponding certification in a more precise and accurate manner.
If you would like to participate, please contact the testing center (Prometric or VUE) where you would like to take the exam. Please inform them that you would like to take the refresh exams and then provide them with the exam numbers 76-210 and 76-215.
