| Well another workweek is upon us and time for another round of questions. I'm a little strapped for time today so here's a quickie.
You are the local administrator of your Windows 2000 professional system. Where can you go to view all of the shared folders on the computer? (Choose 2)
A. In the Shared Folders folder in My Computer.
B. In Control Panel under System Properties, click the Advanced Tab and then click on Shares.
C. In Administrative Tools under Computer Management, expand Shared Folders and then click Shares.
D. Open a command prompt and type net share
E. In Administrative Tools under Computer Management, expand System Information and then click Shares.
Good luck and see you tomorrow for the answer!!

or F, send an email to a lackey who also has administrative rights and have him print you out a report listing all this information due on your desk by lunchtime.

And the answers are...C and D
A little hands-on makes this an easy one.
"A" - No such directory natively exists.
"B" - There is no "Share button/option under the Advanced System Properties.
"C" - GUI Interface approach to seeing the shares you have established.
"D" - The "Old School approach" - Typing Net Share at the command prompt will show you your shares as well. The command prompt is your friend, learn to love it
"E" - The is no Shares option under System Information in the Computer Management Console.
Nice job everyone!! | |

| i know, the post is over and done but i think it's nice to know the built-in MSCs. fsmgmt.msc is for shares (File System Management). or, make your own and save it in %systemroot%\system32\ and type it's name in start run or from a command-line.
(search for *.msc to find all of them on your computer.)

i'd say NO! i may have gotten myself into more! i have yet to upgrade my nt4 mcse to 2000, or my CNE 5 to 6, and then the ccna will be do before i know it... and then i went and made my wife pregnant and i just started up school to finish my bachelor's and work is busier than ever!!
i'm still looking for my mind, if you happen to see it, can you kick i my way? thanks.

Sounds like you've got a full plate to say the least. Studying with little ones around is tough. Get as much done as you can before he/she arrives because they grow so quick (the first year flies by) you don't want to miss out on anything because you were studying
I'll keep looking to see if I find your mind, I usually have to do the same for my wife every couple of weeks or so
