| I authored office 2000 in group policy for a Sales OU..i log on to using a username that is part of the Sales OU..i see the office 2000 program. when i click on one of office 2000 programs it begins to install it and prompts me to enter the serial number. is there a way to input the serial number before hand so that the user doesn't have to manually input it?...thanks! | |

| Spazm,
On the side note how do you deploy office 2000?where can i find the .msi files?
| active directory user and computers..i copied the files to the server from the cd. i then configured the group policy for the Sales OU using the data1.msi file. when the user logs on i see the programs authored and everything works fine, but i just don't want to see the screen that asks me in enter the serial number.
i was just thinking that, if i had 30 people in the Sales OU it would be a head ache to put in the serial each and every time.

| I'd rather deploy Office through computer configuration GP rather then user config. no serial # to enter using this mode and it automatically install flawlessly without user intervention. | |
| hey thanks i'll try that right now.. |
