After visiting M$ website, I came up with the following exam track to get MCSA and MCSE. Please let me know, if I am on the right path.

MCSA
------------------
70-210
70-215
70-218
70-216 -> Elective

MCSE
------------------
70-217
70-219 -> Elective 1
Security+ or exchange 2000 -> Elective 2

Any insight or substitution of exam for easy one is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Just a side thought because I cannot honestly give you advice on how to approach the MCSE or MCSA, I noticed you already have the A+...By geting the Netowrk+ exam, you can use both of those for an elective for the MCSA now. Just a sidenote. Hope it helps

You are better off taking 70-216 rather than Network+ since the 216 test will also help fulfill a requirement for MCSE. Network+ does nothing for MCSE only MCSA. If you want to go for MCSA and MCSE then take 216. It will save you from taking an extra test than if you were to take Network+. There isn't any point to taking Network+ except for your own education and development.

Your test track looks good. Good luck!

I agree.

Just as a side note, I thought 70-221 was a very straight forward exam and pretty easy after taking the 70-216. I did not take the 70-219 design exam so I don't know how it rates in difficulty to the 221 design exam.

MCSA
------------------
Client OS -> 70-210/70-270
Server OS -> 70-215
Networking -> 70-218*
Elective**

MCSE
------------------
Core DS -> 70-217
Design -> 70-219/70-220/70-221***
Elective****

Notes:
* The 70-218 exam is an elective towards the MCSE2k track.
** 70-216 is what I would recommend as an elective for MCSA
*** 70-220 is what I would recommend for Design
**** Depending on interests and whether you want extra stuff after your MCSE credential or add a new credential:
1. If you are interested in Exchange server, and want to be a MCSE:Messaging take 70-224
2. If you are interested in security and want to be a MCSE:Security take 70-214 (Security+ or 70-227 will also be required)
3. If you are interested in SQL Server and want to be a MCDBA take 70-228 (70-229 is also required)

Cheers,
TB
