Question about folder sharing

| In the MS self training book, it says
In a win2k domain, the Administrators and Server Operators groups can share folders residing on any machines in the domain. Ok well I tried this. I added a domain account to the server operators group and I tried to share a folder on a win2k pro machine. I could not do this; there was no sharing tab. Now I could do this on the pro machine when I added the account to the domain admin group. Now is the book wrong? It makes you think if a domain account is a member of the servers oper. group, you can share a folder from ANY machine in a domain - pro OR server.
Here is what Technet says:
This group is only available on Windows 2000 Servers acting as Domain Controllers. Members of this group can perform server management tasks such as creating, changing, and deleting shared printers, shared directories, and files. They can also back up and restore files, lock the server console and shutdown the system. They cannot modify system policies or start and stop services.
Now that says you can create shared directories, but is it only on Server machines? | |

| Is the Pro machine a member of the domain? My MS Press book also says that but I haven't tested it. | |

yep it is. I usually don't believe everything I read, so I like to try out things and it did not work. |
