| Jack and Jill have Windows 2000 Professional systems that are in a workgroup. Both Jack and Jill have user accounts on each others systems. They have established some shares to several folders on their local workstations. When Jack accesses Jill's shared folder named "Stuff" over the network, he has Read-Only access, but when he logs on directly to Jill's system (where the "Stuff" folder is located) he has Full Control.
What's the reason for this? (Choose 2 from the following)
A. Jill's computer needs to be patched to at least Service Pack 2, as this issue is resolved in that Service Pack release.
B. Share permissions only apply when a resource (folder in this case) is accessed over the network.
C. When Jack logs on directly to Jill's computer, the least of the two Share permissions are applied.
D. When Jack logs on directly to Jill's computer, only NTFS permissions are applied.
Good luck, and see you tomorrow for the answer!

| No on the actual exam I will actually read the whole question!
EDIT: How about those Sox Prez!!! I thought about you when Manny hit that shot. He should be beaned his next AB for his classeless walk, though.

what the hell...You are not saying that was alright because he is Manny are you? Manny is an idiot. Act like you have been there before. May he go 0-for-whatever in the yankee series (but the red sox still win!)

| No I'm saying there is nothing wrong with a little showing off the other team once every so often.
but right now I don't care. Damon and Jackson both took a nasty hit to the head.

And the answers are.... B and D
Share permissions only apply when accessing the resource over the network. When a user logs on locally to a system, only the NTFS permissions apply to the resource.
Nice job everyone!! |
