| You are a systems admin for your small company. Scott is a laptop user, and is running Windows 2000 Professional. When he starts his computer, Windows 2000 prompts him to select either docked or undocked mode.
Scott is a Marketing rep and is out of the office 99% of the time. He doesn't even use the docking station when he is in the office. Scott has put in a request to eliminate the startup prompt that asks him to select docked or undocked.
What should you do to accomodate Scott? (Select best choice from the following)
A. Disable support for the docking station in the laptop's BIOS.
B. In Windows 2000, remove the "docked" profile from the laptop's hardware profiles list.
C. In device manager, disable support for the docking station.
D. In Windows 2000, move the "docked" profile to the bottom of the list of hardware profiles.
Good luck and see you tomorrow for the answer!!

| I will go with B because Scott doesn't even use the docking station when he is in the office.
But I think it is better to move the "docked" profile to the bottom of the list of hardware profiles and set only 0-5 seconds for selecting the undocked profile which is located on the top.

| The answer is B
Whenever you have multiple hardware profiles, you will receive the prompt to choose one whenever you boot up.
To get rid of the prompt is to have only one profile.

| I would say B from the available options but in reality I would put docked to the bottom in case I wanted it back and a zero wait time to select the profile to use. | |

And the answer is....B.
Remove the "docked" profile from the list of hardware profiles.
However, as desertdog and asadi stated, moving the "docked" profile to the bottom of the list and setting the wait time to 0 would work as well.
Nicely done everyone!!
