| I've read and heard in many places that dynamic disks are not supported on laptop computers but my MS Press 2nd Edition book just states that dynamic disks are not supported on "removable storage".
I have tested dyanamic disks in my lab environment on my laptop computers and they work fine. If I come across this question on the test does MS still say that dynamic disks are not supported on laptops.

| The option to upgrade to Dynamic Disks is normally not available on a laptop, but some models may have it, because they are not listed in %SystemRoot%\Inf\Biosinfo.inf (the BIOS information file), as they do not support APM or ACPI.

| I know that if the laptop supports APM, there will be an APM tab in the Power Options settings.
How do you know if the laptop supports ACPI? I thought that ACPI allows the Hot swapping of PC Cards in laptops which my laptop allows.

| There are alost always ways around everything, but...
If you are asked a question like that then the answer is that Dynamic Disks are not supported on laptops. This is a generical answer to a generical question.

| I' ve been thorugh this several times.
The point is that in order to take real advantage of dinamic disk you need at least two of them to set them in strie or spanning mode.
Laptops only have one disk probably u can add a removable extra disk to a spanning set but if u start the laptop without the removable disk things wont work fine.
Hope this help.
Anyway as stated above, stay safe, non dynamic memory on laptops or removable disks.
